We are based in Victoria, Australia and aim to handle personal information consistently with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles where they apply, and as a matter of good privacy practice.
This statement covers the current informational, recruitment and professional-collaboration website. Separate privacy notices and guardian-consent arrangements will apply before any child learning accounts, speech recordings, subscriptions or paid learning services are launched.

We may disclose information to service providers that support our website, email, hosting, analytics, recruitment, professional advice or business operations; to authorised project or university partners; or where required by law. Some providers may process information outside Australia, including in Malaysia and Singapore. Where required, we will take reasonable steps to protect information handled overseas.
The website may use necessary and analytics cookies to operate, remember preferences and understand traffic. You can control cookies through your browser, although some website functions may be affected.
5. Security, retention, access and correction
We use reasonable administrative, technical and organisational safeguards. No online system can be guaranteed to be completely secure. We retain information only for as long as reasonably required for the purpose collected, legal obligations or dispute resolution, then delete or de-identify it where practicable.
You may ask to access or correct personal information we hold about you. We may need to verify your identity and may decline a request where permitted by law, in which case we will explain the reason where required.
6. Marketing and children

The current website is intended primarily for parents, professionals, applicants, universities and partners. Children should not submit personal information independently. Before any child-facing service is launched, Koo English will publish additional privacy information covering guardian consent, child accounts, recordings, automated speech assessment, retention, deletion and child-data safeguards.
7. Privacy enquiries and complaints
To request access or correction, withdraw consent, or raise a privacy concern, contact us at hello@kooenglish.com. We will acknowledge and investigate complaints within a reasonable period. If the Privacy Act applies and you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
